What we've Done
SCTA has contributed significantly to important achievements for
theatre in South Carolina:
- Helping to create theatre/drama
standards for South Carolina's public schools
- Helping to establish a separate and
distinct theatre certification for South Carolina's
theatre/drama teachers
- Creating the paid position of SCTA
Administrative Director, in order to carry out routine office
work more efficiently
- Working cooperatively with the Arts in
the Basic Curriculum program and the South Carolina Alliance for
Arts Education.
- Annually appointing South Carolina's
representative to the Board of Directors of SETC
- Supplying a significant share of
leadership to SETC
- Maintaining appointed liaison with
national theatre organizations, including the American
Association of Community Theatres and the Kennedy Center
American College Theatre Festival
